Michael and Ian: Three Centuries of Wind

On Friday 13 November at 7.30pm, in the Brackenbury Room of Impington Village College, Michael and Ian invite you on a lively tour of wind music from the 17th to the 20th centuries, with solos, duets and, yes, trios. Trios, I hear you ask? Well, come along and you will see, and hear, the answer!

Michael’s CV reads like a world tour: the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, and solo recordings for Deutsche Grammophon. These days he’s a familiar face in Cambridge music, not least with the Mawson Road Community Orchestra. Ian, at the piano, has shared many of those grand stages with him and is well known on the Cambridge scene himself. You may even have spotted the pair out and about as the ‘Classic Buskers’.

Entry is free for society members and season ticket holders. Tickets for everyone else are £15 (£5 for those aged 18 or under), available online at (plus a £1.26 booking fee) or on the door, where only cash, or cheques payable to ‘Impington Music Society’, can be guaranteed. Enquiries to impingtonmusicsoc@gmail.com.
